I was very lucky to be signed to a recording contract at the age of 20 and the band became popular very quickly, by 1994 we were fortunate enough to be chosen as the tour support for Depeche Mode on their South African Leg of the Devotional tour. It was an amazing experience for a twenty something year old musician to tour with one of the biggest acts in the world. We had released two CD's under the name, The Outsiders. After the tour the band decided to try the International scene, and with help from our contacts here in the States, we moved to Los Angeles in 1994. I spend the rest of that decade living and playing in Los Angeles. The band broke up in early 1999 due to the fact that two members could not renew their visas, I managed to secure a green card.   My girlfriend at the time was working in the Hotel Industry and she got a fantastic offer to be part of the opening crew for the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas in 2000. I decided to join her and experience Sin City not as a visitor but as a resident for a while. While here, I saw an ad in the newspaper for Guitar Center, they had just opened and was interviewing. Up until this point in my life, I had never had a regular job, I had no work experience in retail or any other field. My time was spent playing gigs, touring, recording, composing and promoting my band. I managed to get the job and spent the next 13 years working for them, starting as an associate and eventually becoming a General Manager.   I met my wife in 2006 and married her in 2007, we have three beautiful children. Nothing in my life, now or in the future could ever be more important to me than my family, they are the reason I work, live and breathe. I hope to give my kids the same happy childhood that I experienced as a child.   I love music, duh, and still buy vinyl,  just because it forces you to pay attention. You have to turn it over, there is a ritual when you put on a record, and yes, I guess it does sound better as well. I also love Batman, my son is having a lot of fun playing with all my old toys, and he will have a gas when he is old enough to play my guitars, dad will help him start his own band one day if he chooses it. My favorite bands are Radiohead, Sigur Ros, The Smiths, R.E.M and Pink Floyd. I love movies and Europe is my favorite holiday destination, although I do miss Africa quite a bit.   I am ready for the challenge that has been presented to me, I look forward to working with Jon and the rest of the region and will do my best to exceed your expectations.
