Ramon Crespo - Store Manager
Ramon was born in Mexico City in November 1967. He spent his youth in Tijuana and San Diego. Ramon started piano lessons at the age of twelve. At the age of twenty he graduated from EMNO (Music School of the NW of Mexico). He spent the next three years with the OBC (Orchestra of Baja California). When Ramon was eighteen years old, he released his first production "Ecos" with the band Vandana (electronic music). Two years later he came out with a solo production "Entre duendes y...". It featured solo piano paired with electronic atmospheres. In 1994, he was hired by a theater company as their composer to represent Mexico in the Expo Sevilla '94 in Spain. The name of the production was "Tenochtitlan 3038". His most recent production was completed in 2009. It is titled "Lucid Dreams" by Soluz and is a fusion of classic jazz and Latin styles. In his adult life he has continued his education at Glendale Community College, as well as through master classes with influential artists such as Medeski Martin & Wood, Dan Delaney, Marco Greco & Chris Walden. Ramon has been active in the music retail industry for over twenty years and joined the Sam Ash Music family in 2004. On his days off, Ramon enjoys spending time with his teenage children and Wife. The Crespo family are fixtures in Phoenix's vibrant Latino art and music communities.
Michael Fornwalt - Sales Manager
Michael Fornwalt is a native Arizonan, born and raised in Phoenix. Lifetime musician, he began with piano at the age of 9, though his true passion for music was kindled by the guitar at age 13. He was taught by Pete Pancrazi, one of Arizona's top jazz performers. Michael's musical interest ranges from classical music to bluegrass, electronica to metal. He is a multi-instrumentalist with years of experience in many stringed instruments, but his main proficiency is in guitar and violin. Michael has performed in a number of bands across many genres in a large number of venues across the valley - from Pickin' in the Pines to Fiesta Bowl Block Party and everything in between. He has recorded with Bob Hoag at Flying Blanket Studios and was childhood friends with Nate Ruess (of "the Format" and "Fun."). Though Michael is a hobbyist musician at this time, music has always played a key role in his life. Working for, alongside, and serving other musicians is where he is happiest. Michael joined the Sam Ash family 4 years ago as a part time band associate and hasn't looked back.
